Let the initial point be A.

Ajay drive 3 km to the north direction from point A and reached at point B.

→ AB = 3 km

And move 4 km towards east direction from point B to point C .

→ BC  = 4 km

So, the distance between point A and C is obtained by the use of Pythagoras theorm.

AC² = AB² + BC²

Here, by putting the value.

AC²= ( 3 )² + ( 4 )²

AC² = 9 + 16

AC² = 25

AC = √25

AC = 5 km

Therefore, the AC = 5km is the distance between starting point to final point.
