let the money he had be x
money given to friend = x - x/2 = x/2
money given to sister = x/2 - x/4 = x/4
money given to brother = x/4 - x/8 = x/8
money given to dad = x/8 - x/16 = x/16
now money left is Rs 25 = x/16
x/16 = 25
x = 16*25
x = 400
