Answer: AlBr3 and BeF2 do not obey octet rule because:-

  • According to Octet rule :- every atom wants to have eight valence electrons in its outermost electron shell to gain  stability.
  1. In AlBr3 , Al octet is not completed that Al has only 6 electrons.
  2. In BeF2, Be octet is not completed that Be has only 4 electrons.

That is both of them has incomplete octet.
