In the letter by Dhumketu, Ali is the main character who is a hunter. In this story, Ali's life is depicted as filled with loneliness. He visited regularly early morning at 4'O clock to the post office, the staff made his fun and laughed at him. His eagerness upon the letter of his daughter depicts how lonely Ali is. He desired to talk to his only daughter and waited for her letter for years. Also, when he is about to die he leaves asks the postmaster to leave the letter from his daughter on his grave. This shows that Ali was alone in his misery as he had no emotional support.
