Let Ali's present age be 7x and that of karan be 10x
Then the ratio would be = the given ratio I.e- 7/10
Then Ali's age 5 years from now would be 7x+5 and that of karan would be 10x+5
Then the new ratio is 7x+5/10x+5=8/11
Now cross multiply to get
77x+55=80x+40
=55-40=80x-77x
=15=3x
=x=5
So Ali's present age would be 7*5= 35 and karan's would be 10*5=50 years!
Hope this helps you out!!
