Alkanes are a type of hydrocarbon. Alkane, Alkene & Alkynes are the three types of hydrocarbons. Thge general formula for Alkanes is Cn H2n+2. We can see that the number of hydrogen atoms2 more than twice the number of Carbon atoms. So, the amount of Hydrogen in each of the molecule of the alkane is much higher. And since, we knoe the fact that the hydogen is the cleanest fuel, and a clean fuel like hydrogen will have complete combustion which burns with a blue flame. Therefore, an alkene always burns with a blue flame.
