All dead animals do not leave their fossils records, but in some cases they are fossils are formed. How do these fossil records form a direct evidence of parts happenings?​

The fossils are the remains of dead organisms.These fossils which are formed during a particular era/period,remain in the soil for many years.These fossils help scientists to discover their age and the period during which they died.Hence these form the direct evidences for the parts happening.

As we dig deeper and deeper we find the most recent fossils on the top layer of the earth and the old fossils in the deeper sections .
The other way to find fossils is by detecting the ratios of different isotopes of the same element .
