Anything that is bright and shining need not necessarily be made of gold. Certain things appear to be valuable but actually they are not. So we have to be careful and should not pay more for things before examining their actual worth.

Sometimes we are deceived by appearances. This is the idea conveyed by this proverb. It cautions us from being carried away by outward appearances that divert our attention and make less important things appear more valuable.

Lemme start lyk this...it is a story about vir and Pinky a boy and a girl..
All that glitters are not gold..

This is of those one fine mornings when Vir and Pinky were going to there school. Pinky saw a fascinating, glittering, bright colored object in the bushes. “Wow! look at that Vir, that looks awesome beautiful! I want it now.” said Pinky.

“Pinky, do not pick up unknown objects, it can be dangerous.” Vir advised. But, Pinky wanted it so she wanted it and she managed to grab it out of the bushes.

As she grabbed the object with her hand, she started to cry, “Aowww!”. Blood began to flow from her fingers. I was a a piece of glass that Pinky had grabbed carelessly. “What Vir said was right. I will never again touch unknown objects.” said Pinky to herself sadly.
..so children from this story we understand that We live in a world where outward appearances are given more importance than the real character. Shops are decorated to showcase their things and even useless things are packed and wrapped attractively. Diamonds and glass look nearly alike. But diamonds are more rare and harder than glass. So the outward appearances should always be checked with the internal character of a substance.

Answer:

All that glitters is not gold

Once, in a thick forest, a red deer went to a river to quench his thirst. As he was drinking, he saw his reflection in the clear water. He looked at his horns and thought how beautiful they are. Then he saw his legs. He felt very sad on seeing his thin ugly legs. He thought how lucky he would have been if there was some way he could change his legs.

Suddenly the red deer heard the howls of hounds. He started running to save his life. He was running so fast that the hounds were left far behind. But as he was running through the forest, his horns were caught in the bush. He tried to set himself free but could not. The hungry hounds reached him and killed him.

His thin ugly legs helped him to escape. But his beautiful horns got entangled in the bush leading to his death.

The proverb "all that glitters is not gold" expresses the wisdom that the attractive external appearance of something or someone is not a reliable indication of its true nature. Appearance can be greatly misleading and we must be careful not trust everything we see. To assume something as precious or valuable on the basis of mere appearance is unwise.
