Kelvin scale was plotted by graphing the kinetic energy of gases with respect to temperature and extending the graph in the backward direction
this showed that gases have zero kinetic energy at -273.15°C
and so -273.15°C is the coldest it can get in the whole universe
because at that point every atom has zero k.e
hence 0 Kelvin= -273.15°C
negative Kelvin scale isn't possible as temperature can't get lower than that
