Grouping allows you to combine multiple objects to behave like one object.
- Grouping is similar to placing items in a container.
- They can be moved collectively, and you can make general adjustments to them.
- The components of a group can always be handled separately and the group can always be undone.
- Grouping can be done in four ways.
- Grouping by common selection: Any operations you perform when several objects are selected are applied to all the selected objects.
- Maintaining groups and undoing groups: Any editing actions performed on a group of items have an effect on every member of the group. The entire group is selected if just one member of the group is clicked.
- Editing individual objects in a group: A group can be edited separately without the group being destroyed. Double-click the group or use the Enter group option from the context menu to accomplish this.
- Nesting groups: When you ungroup a group that is composed of multiple groups, you end up with individual groups that you can further ungroup, and so on, until all that is left are single objects.
