Allyl alcohol can be converted to propenal as follows:
CH2=CH-CH2OH + pyridinium chlorochromate (C5H5NH+CrO3Cl-) → CH2=CH-CHO

Hey dear,

● Allyl alcohol to propenal -
Allyl alcohol has structural formula CH2=CH-CH2-OH.

Allyl alcohol on addition ozone gives an intermediate which on further treatment with zinc/water gives propenal & methanal.

CH2=CH-CH2-OH + O3 --> CH2-O3-CH-CH2-OH
CH2-O3-CH-CH2-OH + H2O --> CH3-CH2-CHO + HCHO

* Alternatively, allyl alcohol on treatment with pyridinium chlorochromate also gives propenal.

Hope this helps you.
