ANSWER...

SUBLIMATION...

The change of solid directly into the geaseous state without passing through the liquid state is upon heating is called SUBLIMATION.

The substance that undergo sublimation is called sublimasive substances.

Examples :-

Naphthalene balls , Iodine , Camphor , ammonium chloride , etc.

In this method , the mixture of a sublimasive and a non sublimasive substance is heated in such a way that a sublimasive substance changes into vapour and gets separated from a non sublimasive substance.

The process of sublimation can be used to purify the impure samples of substance which undergo sublimation and are assosiated with non volatile impurities.

For example , an impure sample of naphthalene containing the non volatile impurity of common salt can be purified by sublimation process.Pure napthalene directly changes from solid to vapour whereas sodium chloride left in the dish.
