Answer:

Case 1:

Income on Rs 120 = 6% of  Rs 100 = Rs 6

Case 2:

Income on Rs 15 = 8% of  Rs 10 = Rs

Clearly,  16 > 15

∴ The investment in the second case is better than the investment in the first case

Step-by-step explanation:

Question :-

Alok bought shares of 6% of Rs. 100 shares at Rs. 120. Amin bought shares of 8% of Rs. 20 shares at Rs. 30. Whose investment was better ?

Solution :-

{\large{\underline{\sf{\green{6\% \: of \: Rs. 100 \: shares \: at \: Rs. 120 : }}}}} \\

The annual income from 1 shares of NV Rs. 100 is Rs. 6, investment for 1 share being Rs. 120

⛬ \: \: \: \: \: {\bold{\sf{ profit \: percentage \: = \ \: \frac{6}{120} \: × \: 100 \% \: = \: 5\%}}} \\

{\bold{\sf{⛬ \: \: \: \: \: Alok's \: shares \: give \: him \: profit \: of \: 5\%}}} \\ \\

{\large{\underline{\sf{\green{8\% \: of \: Rs. \: 20 \: shares \: at \: \: Rs. \: 30 \: :}}}}} \\

The annual income from 1 share of NV Rs. 20 is Rs. 8 × 20/100, investment for share being Rs. 30

{\bold{\sf{⛬ \: \: \: \: \: profit \: percentage \: = \: \frac{\frac{8 \: × \: 20}{100}}{100} \: = \: 5\frac{1}{3}\%}}} \\

{\bold{\sf{⛬ \: \: \: \: \: Amin's \: shares \: give \: him \: profit \: of \: 5\frac{1}{3}\%}}} \\

{\bold{⟹ \: \: \: \: \: }} {\bold{\rm{\red{Amin's \: investment \: was \: better}}}} \\
