Alok has a total of Rs.1050 as currency notes in the denominations of Rs.50, Rs.20 and Rs.10. The ratio of the number of Rs. 50 notes and Rs. 20 is 9:8 respectively. If he has 61 notes in total. Then, how many notes of each denomination he has?

Let the number of 50 notes and₹20 notes be 9x and 8x , respectably,but he has 61 notes in total.

So,the number of 10 notes=61-(9x+8x)=61-17x

Now, amount he has

From₹50 notes=9x×50=450x

From₹20 notes=8x×20=160x

From₹10 notes=(61-17x)×10=(610-170x)

Hence the total money he has =450x+160x+(610-170x)=(610+440x)

But he has total of money=1050

610+440x=1050

=440x=1050-610

=440x=440

=x=440×(1/440)

=1

The numbers of 50 notes he has =9×1=9

The number of 20 notes he has=8×1=8

The number of 10 notes he has=(61-17×1)=44
