Alternative ending to the story my lost dollar

make todd return the dollar to the author and make the author realize that he was wrong and everyone remembers about the borrowed dollar but forget at the time of meeting....

Major Todd came across the story written by his friend while he met a common friend at University Club, Montreal. After reading the story, he was overwhelmed. The next day he came to me and extended his apology for not returning the dollar he had borrowed. He said it was just that he forgot about the borrowed dollar and it was not intentional. He took out a dollar from his pocket and handed it over to me. I had no idea though how this transformation took place, I pocketed my dollar quickly saying thanks to Todd. Now it was my turn to pay back all those odd dollars which I may have borrowed earlier and have forgotten.
