do alkyl halides are polar in nature but they are not soluble in water because they are not able to form hydrogen bonding with water molecules since they are hydrophobic in nature..

soluble in water because in alkylhaldies the

force of attraction is huge between hydrogen

atoms this makes them impossible to break

down force between them.
