One disadvantage of specialisation is that, it does not allow the ‘specialist’ to do other jobs effectively or the ‘specialist’ is not equipped or trained enough, to do other associated jobs effectively.
However, specialisation helps a person focus on a specific area of work. It therefore enables the person to do that specific task accurately as he does not have to focus on other things at the same time.

The disadvantage is the loss of flexibility among the workers.
If an employee specializes in a procedure or task is unavailable at the time of urgency, then a novice has to take over.
If a non-specialist performs the job of a specialist, it can bring many problems.
It is a disadvantage of specialization.
