first of all... the sun is way too far than u can imagine...it may require you more that 15-20 years or more to reach the sun...
although the temperature is way too hot at the surface but while the heat is reaching the earth a lot of it is lost to the surrounding space and various gases etc.. and also the atmosphere of earth plays a vital role in cooling the temp.
