Aluminium is a very reactive element according to the reactivity series but it doesn't react with silver nitrate. Give reason for its no reaction with silver nitrate.

 Aluminum has a surface coating of aluminium oxide that protects it from reaction. 
Without this oxide layer aluminium would be of little use as a structural metal as it would react quickly with moisture and oxygen
