Given

  • Sum of numerator and denominator is 30.Difference between my denominator and numerator is 6.

To Find

  • The Fraction

Let the numerator be xAnd denominator be y.

  • It is Given that Sum of numerator and denominator is 30.

therefore, x+y = 30 ____(1)

  • It is also Given that difference between my denominator and numerator is 6.

therefore, y-x= 6 _______(2)

On Solving Equation 2

→y-x= 6

→y= 6+x

  • On substituting the value of y in Equation 1

→ x+y = 30

putting the value of x

→x+6+x=30

→2x=30-6

→x= 24/2

→ x = 12

Putting the value of x in y= 6+x

→y= 6+12

→y= 18

  • Hance the value of x is 12 and y is 18.

The Fraction will be 12/18.

2/3 =

2×4 / 3×4

= 8/12

which is an equivalent fraction of 2/3.

Similarly, if we divide the numerator and denominator of 12/18 by 6 we get.

12/18

= 12÷6 / 18÷6

= 2/3.

So 12/18 is an equivalent fraction of 2/3 as well.
