In ΔXYN and ΔXOP,

∠YXN = ∠PXO (interior angle)

∠NYX = ∠POX (alternate interior angle)

∵ ΔXYN ∼ ΔXOP (by AA properties)

The ratio of the sides of two similar triangles is equal to the ratio of the corresponding sides

⇒ XY/OX = XN/PX

⇒ 18/27 = XN/PX

⇒ XN/PX = 2/3 ----(1)

In ΔPXZ and ΔOXN,

∠PXZ = ∠NXO (alternate interior angle)

∠XZP = ∠XON (alternate interior angle)

∵ ΔPXZ ∼ ΔNXO (by AA properties)

The ratio of the sides of two similar triangles is equal to the ratio of the corresponding sides

⇒ (ZY + YX)/XO = PX/XN

⇒ (ZY + 18)/27 = 3/2 (from equation, 1)

⇒ 2 × ZY + 36 = 81

⇒ ZY = 45/2

∴ ZY = 22.5
