Answer:

22.22%

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x be the total prize money.

Amount given to Son = x/2 - 2000

Amount given to Daughter = 2/3(x/2) +  1000  = x/3 + 1000

Amount given to Son and daughter are equal.

2/3(x/2) +  1000  = x/2 - 2000

x/2 - x/3 = 3000

x/6 = 3000

x = 18000.

Total prize money won = Rs. 18000.

Amount given to son = 18000/2 - 2000 = Rs.7000.

Amount given to daughter = 18000/3 + 1000 = Rs. 7000.

Amount saved = 18000 - (7000 + 7000) = Rs. 4000

% of amount saved = 4000/18000 * 100 = 22.22%
