To find :  the number of days them to complete 45% of the work by working together​

Solution:

James 1 days works  = x

James completed work  in  1/x  days

Amanda 1 days work  = 3x  

Amanda complete work in 1/3x  days

1/x  - 1/3x  = 32

=> 3 - 1 = 32 * 3x

=> x = 1/48

Together  1 day work = x + 3x  = 4x

= 4(1/48)

= 1/12

Hence 1 day  work  = 1/12

Total work completed together in 12 Days

45% of the work by working together​ = (45/100)12

= 5.4  Days
