Honorary memberships of Calcutta Club and East Bengal which is leading soccer club where economist has been honoured by National Insurance Company.
Company has launched a policy as Amartya Siksha Yojana Policy.
Scheme has been launched by him in Kolkata which gives insurance covers upto Rs. 1 million to students whose parents have met with an accident/death.
National Insurance chairman A N Poddar said that this scheme is good for social security and serves two purposes.
Policy confirms academic educations of students which shouldn't be obstructed.
He tells that National Insurance was open to idea of scheme covering abroad education.
Though consent of Reserve Bank of India will be needed for this reason where he thought that scheme will be famous.
Company will effect changes in policy as if these could make it most useful for beneficiaries.
