Dr. BR Ambedkar, famously known as "Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar", was one of the greatest and prominent leaders that India has ever seen. He is the author of India's constitution and is known as the pilot of the Indian Constitution.

EXPLANATION:

Dr. Ambedkar was a prominent social reformer, jurist and politician. Ambedkar is popularly known as the ‘Father of the Indian Constitution’. After India’s independence, Ambedkar was appointed as the Minister for Law.

He was nominated as the Chairman of the Constitution Drafting Committee who was given the duty of drafting the Indian Constitution. The constitution was thus adopted on 26th Nov 1949, whereas it came into force on 26th Jan 1950. Ambedkar was an astute constitutional expert; he had reviewed the constitutions of around 60 nations and then drafted the Indian Constitution.

The constitutional draft prepared by Ambedkar offered constitutional protections and guarantees for a varied range of civil freedoms for individual citizens, comprising the eradication of untouchability, freedom of religion and the prohibition of all discrimination forms.
