Let the number be x
(x-5/2) × 8=3x
2x-5/2×8=3x
4(2x-5)= 3x
8x-20=3x
8x-3x=20
5x=20
x=20/5=4
Number = 4

Let the number she thought be x

ATQ ,she subtract the 5/2 from the no.= x-5/2

She multiply the result by 8 =8(x-5/2)

Solution:-

3x = 8(x-5/2)

3x=8x -20

20=5x

x=4

So, the number she thought is 4.
