Amit has to cover 800 kms for his college admissions. He covers 7/16 of the distance with a train, He then travels with bus and covers 30% of the remaining distance. And finally he rents a car and covers rest of the distance with it. How much distance did he cover with rental car?​

To find: Distance covered by the rental car

Solution:

Distance covered by the train is =\frac{7}{16} *800

                                                        =350 km

Distance left after covered by train is = 450 km

Distance covered by the bus= 30% of 450

                                                        =\frac{30}{100} *450

                                                        = 135 km

After renting a car he covers the remaining distance :

Distance covered by car = Total distance - distance by train+ distance by bus

Distance covered by car  =800-350-135

Distance covered by car  =315

Distance covered by the rental car is 315 km

Therefore he covered 450km by train , 135 km by bus and 315 by Car.
