Palak marks = 40

Abhas marks= 80

Step-by-step explanation:

Let Palak's marks be = x

And Abha's marks be= 2x (since she gets twice his marks)

Since 2 times Abhas marks and three times Palaks marks made 280, lets write it as=

4x + 3x = 280

Add 4x and 3x.

7x = 280

x = 280/7 = 40.

Palaks marks = 40

Abhas marks = 40 × 2 = 80
