the present age of Amit = x years

Father's present age will be = x + 30

after 2 years father's age will be (x + 30) + 2 and Amits age will be x + 2 .

Now,

It is given that after 2 years Amits father's age will be twice of Amit age.

So ,

(x + 30) + 2 = 2(x + 2) \\  \\ x + 32 = 2x + 4  \\ \\ 32 - 4= 2x - x \\  \\ 28 = x \\  \\ x = 28.


So,

the present age of Amit = 28 years

and , Father's present age = 29 + 30 = 58

X+30=y EQ 1

2(x +2) = y+2

2x+4=y+2

2x -y = -2 EQ 2

By substitution method

X =y-30 we put value in EQ 1

Y= 58

X= 28

Amit age is 28 and father age is 58
