amit wants to cover the floor of a room 6.5 m wide and 8 m long with square titles. if each tile has sides of 0.5m then find the number of tiles required to cover the entire floor of the room

=6.5×8/0.5×0.5
=208

area of the room = 6.5×8
= 52m
area of one tile = (0.5)²
= 0.25m²
number \: of \: tiles \:  = \:  \frac{area \: of \: the \: room}{area \: of \: one \: tile}
therefore,
no. of tiles = 52m/0.25m
= 208
208 tiles are required.
