Amit was given an increment of 20% on his salary. If his new salary is Rs. 15300, what was his salary before increment?

Let the original salary be X.

After the increment, the salary will be 1.2X

Therefore 1.2X = Rs. 15300
Hence X = Rs. 12750

So, the salary before the increment was Rs. 12750.
