ANSWER

(i) 1 mole occupies 22.4L volume

∴ moles of NH

3

 present=

22.4

67.2

=3

(ii) 1 mole of NH

3

reacts with 1 mole of HCl to give 1 mole of NH

4

Cl. Here only 1 mole of HCl & 3 moles of NH

3

are present. Hence, 1 mole of NH

4

Cl is produced.

Mass of NH

4

Cl produced= 1× Molecular mass

                                             =1×(14+4×1+35.5)

                                             =53.5g

(iii) Here NH

3

is present in excess than what is required to react with 1 mole HCl. Hence 3−1=2 moles of NH

3

will remain after completion of the reaction.

(iv) Chemical reaction involved is:

NH

3

+HCl⟶NH

4

Cl .
