Among the fabrics, why is a good absorber of water a bad conductor of heat?

Shariquemalik: Cotton fibre can form bonding with water molecules. More over there are air spaces in between the fibres. when water is thrown on cotton fibre, it get attached with the fibre and goes into free space in between the fibres. In this way water is absorbed. Similarly air holes in cotton clothes trap the body heat as air is bad conductor of heat, cotton cloth also works as bad conductor of heat.

Answer:

because fibres that are good conductors of water have large air spaces to absorb water so fire has to fight air and then enter so it takes a lot of time. thus, they are bad conductors of heat
