IN RUBIDIUM THE OUTERMOST ELECTRON IS LOOSELY HELD BECAUSE AS WE GO DOWN THE GROUP NUCLEAR CHARGE ALONG WITH THE NUMBER OF SHELLS INCREASES. HOWEVER, THE INCREASE IN SHEILA DOMINATED OVER THE NUCLEAR CHARGE AND IT BECOMES DIFFICULT TO LOSE ELECTRONS

dhruvbadaya1: Loosely held means that it is easy to loose electrons
shadishsakharkpdealt: ok thank you

The outermost electron is loosely held in Lithium.

REASON:
The alkali metals have low value of ionization energy which decreases down the group and so can easily lose their valence electron and thus act as good reducing agents.
