Let the three numbers be a, b ,c. From the problem,

a = 2*b, a = 3*c

So we can define a and b in terms of c:

2*b = 3*c ==> b = 3*c / 2

a = 3*c

Now we add them all and take the average:

(3*c + 3* c / 2 + c ) / 3 = 49.5 ==> 5.5 * c / 3 = 49.5

c = 27

Since we know a = 3 * c, we find that a = 81, and the difference between first and third is:

a - c = 54
