It was a lovely summer morning and a cool breeze was gently swaying. It was a perfect day for a picnic. We four friends decided we would go to Madh Island and enjoy some quiet time there.
We chose the place as it isn’t very far off and we could get back by evening. We drove and had a good breakfast on our way. We reached there and found it to be a quiet place.
There wasn’t much activity probably because it was a weekday. A few fishermen were fishing a few yards away and we could see a few boats as well.
All of a sudden there was a shrieking sound and a lot of people started running towards the place from the sound came. We four also joined the gang, on reaching the spot, we realized that a man got stuck in quicksand.
We immediately caught hold of a deserted boat at the side and tied a big strong rope to it and up a huge tree. We stood on the boat and threw the rope to the man instructing him all the time not to panic.
We asked him not to move too much but move his body backward to avoid being sucked in further. He followed our instructions and caught hold of the huge rope we sent his way.
The people there joined us and all of us pulled him out together. It was such a close call and all of us were really scared. God was luckily on our side and all of us thanked Him.
The fishermen offered the man and all of us some hot tea. We were grateful for it as it was much needed at that time. The poor man was shivering and we offered to drop him back home. It was getting dark and after dropping the man at his house, we reached home safely.
This was a really adventurous trip that sends shivers down our spine, every time we think of it.
