Cost of painting it at 17.50 per  square metre is Rs 1050

Solution:

Given that,

An advertisement board is in the form of an isosceles triangle with perimeter 36  and each of the equal sides are 13 m

Let "a" , "b", "c" be the sides of triangle

Given is a isosceles triangle, each of the equal sides are 13 m

Therefore,

a = b = 13

Given that perimeter is 36 m

We know that,

perimeter = a + b + c

36 = 13 + 13 + c

36 = 26 + c

c = 36 - 26

c = 10

Find the area of triangle

The area of triangle is given as:

Area = \sqrt{s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)}

Where, s is half of perimeter

s = 36/2 = 18

Therefore,

Area = \sqrt{18(18-13)(18-13)(18-10)}\\\\Area = \sqrt{18 \times 5 \times 5 \times 8}\\\\Area = \sqrt{3600}\\\\Area = 60

Find the cost of painting it at 17.50 per square metre

Cost = 60 x 17.50

Cost = 1050

Thus cost of painting it at 17.50 per  square metre is Rs 1050
