An aeroplane , when 3000 m high, passes vertically above another plane at an instant, when the angle of elevation of two aeroplanes from the same point on the ground are 600 and 450 respectively. Find the vertical distance between aeroplane.

tan60=3000/d-----(1)
tan45=(3000-x)/d-----(2)
so,d=1000root3
now put d in (1)
x=3000-1000root3

where x is distance between plane

let AB be the breadth & h be 3000 m.
<DAC=450 & ,DCB=600
tan 45=3000/AB,      AB=3000 m
tan 60=3000/CB,,   ROOT3=3000/CB         CB=1000ROOT3
DISTANCE=3000-1000ROOT3m.
