Given data : An aircraft has a take-off mass of 320000 kg. Each of the 4 engines can produce a maximum force of 240 kN {kilonewton}.

To find : What is the maximium accelartation of an aircraft ?

Solution : {Here we calculate acceleration of aircraft in standard units}

Here, wr know that,

⟹ 1 kN = 1000 N {1 Kilonewton = 1000 Newton}

Hence,

⟹ 240 kN = {240 * 1000} N

⟹ 240 kN = 240000 N

Here, we know that, each engine can produce force of 240000 N

Hence, four engine can produce force of {4 * 240000} N.

⟹ four engine force = 4 * 240000

⟹ four engine force = 960000 N

Now, according to given,

⟹ Mass of aircraft = 320000 kg

⟹ Force produce by four engine = 960000 N

Now, here we use formula of force : to find maximum acceleration of an aircraft.

⟹ force = mass * acceleration

⟹ 960000 = 320000 * acceleration

⟹ acceleration = 960000/320000

⟹ acceleration = 96/32

⟹ acceleration = 48/16

⟹ acceleration = 24/8

⟹ acceleration = 12/4

⟹ acceleration = 6/2

⟹ acceleration = 3 m/s²

Answer : Hence, maximum acceleration of an aircraft is 3 m/s².
