An aircraft is vertically above a point which is 10 km west and 15 km north of a control tower if the aircraft is 4000m above the ground how far is it from control tower?​

first find the ground distance between tower and aircraft

so, it will be

√(10^2+15^2) (Pythagoras theorem)

=5√13

now find out the air distance

so, here 5√13 will be one side of right angled triangle and 4000m= 4 km will another one

so,

√((5√13)^2+ (4)^2)

=√(325+16)

=√(341 km)
