An aircraft travelling at 600km per hour accelerates steadily at 10km per hour per second.Taking the speed of sound as 1100km per hour at the aircrafts altitude,how long will it take to reach the sound barrier '?

velocity = initial velocity + (acceleration x time)...............1100 = 600 + (10 x t) 

t = 50 seconds.

v = u + a t

t = (v - u) / a = (1100 - 600 ) / 10 = 50 s
