Quinter Metsys was a goldsmith. he was a native of Flanders. he fell in love with the daughter of a painter but the father of the daughter could not accept him as his son-in-law because of his profession. once he quietly entered the painter's studio and drew a fly on his latest panel. the fyl was painted with such delicate realism that it appeared to be real. the painter himself tried to swat away the fly but then came to knew the truth. he was then accepted and the painter made Quinten his apprentice. he married his beloved. so he became one of the famous painters of his age.
