Total parts of copper = 33 parts

Total parts of zinc = 7 parts

Total no. of parts are 33 + 7 = 40 parts

Percentage of copper is = 33/ 40 × 100

= 165/2

= 82.5%

Answer:   82.5%

Given: 7 parts of zinc

          33 parts of  copper

To find: percentage of copper in the alloy

Method:  add the two numbers

              *7+33* = 40

               = 33/40     (parts of  copper out of the total no. of parts in alloy)

multiply it by 100

              =>  33/40 x 100

               =>  33/4 x 10       (cancelled zeros as they're common)

             =  8.25 x 10

             => 82.5%
