The percentage composition of the alloy is as follows:

copper- 30%
zinc-    35%
nickel-  100- (30+35)  =100-65  =35%

Therefore weight of nickel is 35 % of the 740g:

= 35/100 x 740

= (740x35)/100

= 25900/100

= 259 grams

Step-by-step explanation:

Copper = 30%

Zinc = 35%

Nickel = 100-(30+35)% = 100-65 % = 35%

:. weight of nickel is 35% of the 740 g :

= 35 × 740 grams

100

= (740×35) grams

100

= 25900 grams

100

= 259 grams
