POTENTIAL DIFERENCE=ENERGY/CHARGE
PD=200V
CHARGE=CHARGE ON AN ELECTRON=e                 (1.6*10^-19)
ENERGY= PD*e=200eV

The kinetic energy is 400 eV

Given:

Potential difference = 200 V

Alpha particle is accelerated.

Solution:

Increase in kinetic energy will be given by the formula of kinetic energy.

Kinetic energy = charge × potential difference.

The charge of an alpha particle is twice of an electron.

Here, the kinetic energy is to calculated in terms of eV

Thereby,

Charge will be 2e

So,

Kinetic energy = 2e × 200 V

Kinetic energy = 400 eV
