An altitude of a triangle is five-thirds the length of its corresponding base.If the altitude be increased by 4cm and the base be decreased by 2 cm,the area of the triangle remains the same.Find the base and the altitude of the triangle.

5x/3Xx=(5x/3+4)X(x-2)

5x2/3=5x2/3-10x/3-8+4x

2x/3=8

x=12

altitude=20
