An aluminium can was use to store ferrous sulphate solution.It is observed that in few days holes appeared in the can.Explain the reason and write the chemical equation to support your answer.

Aluminum from the walls reacted with ferrous sulfate and iron is precipitated.
2FeSO4 + 2Al → Al2(SO4)3 + 3Fe .
2FeSO4 + 2Al → Al2(SO4)3 + 3Fe .

This is because as we know that aluminium is more reactive than iron and so it displaces iron from its salt solution.....
Following is the reaction involved :-
2Al + 3FeSO4 -------> Al2(SO4)3 + 3Fe
