Let the number of girls be X and boys be Y
X + Y = 700 ........... (1)

With this each boy received 0.75 and girl received is 1 means that boys received ¾ (which is 0.75) of girls.

amount received by girls + boys = 600
X + ¾Y = 600 ........... (2)

(1)-(2) =>
X + Y = 700
-X - ¾Y = -600
________________
¼Y = 100

Y = 400
Now, substituting the value of Y in equation (1)

X + Y = 700
X +400 = 700 => X = 300

The ratio of ratio of number of boys to girls is:-
X/Y => 400/300 => 4/3 or 1⅓

Answer:

4:3

Step-by-step explanation:

let X be boys

and Y be girls

Given total strength(X+Y)=700 -----(1)

boys=0.75rs

girls=1rs

0.75X+1Y=600 -----(2)

(1)-(2)--> X+Y=700

0.75X+1Y=600

(-) (-) (-)

0.25X = 100

X=400

substitute X in (1) ---> 400+Y=700

Y=700-400

Y=300

ratio of the number of boys and girls = X/Y

=400/300

=4:3
