\large\sf\underline{Given\::}

  • Ratio in which money is divided between P , Q and R = 2 : 5 : 7 .

  • P's + R's share = Q's + 800

\large\sf\underline{To\:find\::}

  • Share of money that P will get.

\large\sf\underline{Assumption\::}

Let the :

  • P's share be 2x .

  • Q's share be 5x .

  • R's share be 7x .

\large\sf\underline{Solution\::}

According to the question :

Sum of P and Q's share is more than that of Q's by Rs 800.

So, let's frame the equation :

\sf\:P's \:+ R's \:= Q's + 800

  • Substituting the value we have assumed

\sf\implies\:2x\:+ 7x\: = 5x + 800

\sf\implies\:9x\: = 5x + 800

  • Transposing 5x to other side

\sf\implies\:9x\: - 5x = 800

\sf\implies\:4x = 800

  • Transposing 4 to other side

\sf\implies\:x =\cancel{\frac{ 800}{4}}

\large{\mathfrak\red{\implies\:x\:=\:200}}

Now let's substitute the value of x in the assumed values :

  • P's share = 2 × 200 = \small\fbox\purple{Rs\:400}.

  • Q's share = 5 × 200 = \small\fbox\purple{Rs\:1000}.

  • R's share = 7 × 200 = \small\fbox\purple{Rs\:1400}.

Let's now quickly verify our answers :

We know ,

\sf\:P's \:+ R's \:= Q's + 800

  • Let's substitute the value we got :

\sf\implies\:400\:+ 1400\: = 1000 + 800

\sf\implies\: 1800\: = 1800

\small{\underline{\boxed{\mathrm\pink{Hence\:Verified}}}}

\dag\:\underline{\sf So\:the\:required\:share\:of\:P\:is\:Rs\:400.}

!! Hope it helps !!
