Step-by-step explanation:

Given:-

An angle is 2/7of it's supplement.

To find:-

Find the measure of the larger angle?

Solution:-

Let the angle be X°

Then , The supplementary angle of X° = (180-X)°

Given that

The angle is 2/7of it's supplement.

=> X° = (2/7)×(180-X)°

=>7×X°=2(180-X)°

=> 7X° = 360°-2X°

=> 7X° + 2X° = 360°

=> 9X° = 360°

=>X° = 360°/9

=>X° = 40°

The angle is 40°

It's supplementary angle = 180°-40° = 140°

The two angles are 40° and 140°

Answer:-

The larger angle for the given problem is 140°

Check:-

The angles are 40° and 140°

2/7 of 140°

=> 2×140°/7

=> 280°/7

=> 40°

Verified the given relation.

Used formula:-

Supplementary Angles:-

  • The sum of two angels is 180° ,the angles are called Supplementary angles to each other.

  • The supplementary angle of X°=(180-X)°
